This depends on the type of crowned unit that you have. If you have straight, wavy, thin, or oily hair, it is recommended that you use warm water to wash your hair. This will add texture to your Crowned unit, giving it an extra bounce while giving it a good clean. However, if you have curly or dry hair, it is recommended that you wash your Crowned unit with cold water as this will lock in the moisture in your unit while keeping it shiny and luscious. To lock in moisture, whether the hair is straight, wavy, or curly you can condition it with cold water.
It is recommended that you air dry your crowned units for best results, otherwise use your hair dryer on cool to dry. If you are in a rush, add a heat protectant spray or natural alternative to protect hair from damage.
Definitely! You can use a wig to do versatile styles that you would not want to do with your hair, like bobs or to change your hair color, without cutting or coloring your natural hair. Simply wrap or braid your own hair, apply a stocking cap and then follow instructions on installation of your preferred wig or seek the aid of a stylist
Yes, you can do your usual activities with your Crowned unit. For headband units, you can grab and go without any alterations or worry. For lace units, it is recommended that you avoid swimming or sweating for 24 hours after applying adhesives and tapes, then you are good to go.
First, for lace wigs, it is recommended that you use a waterproof adhesive if swimming since not all glues and adhesives are waterproof. After swimming you should wash the wig (headband wigs included) to get rid of chlorine or salt water and deep condition to retain moisture, air dry and then style your Crowned unit as you would usually do.
Make sure your Crowned unit is damp, add some moose to the unit for more moisture and to lock in curls. Use your Crowned detangling brush and brush the unit from the ends to the weft. Be gentle and treat the unit as you would your own hair when detangling.
Every one to two weeks or if the hair starts to feel sticky or dry.
The lifespan of your Crowned unit depends on your aftercare routine. We provide aftercare tips based on the type of unit that you purchase from us. With proper care and maintenance, your wigs can last more than 3 years.
